THE BUILDING
Norway's oldest train station, Østbanehallen, sits at the centrifugal center of Oslo city. Enclosing a 19th-century railway hall, the grand building looks out on the Oslo Fjord from its southern side, while the city's main walking street proceeds from its western façade toward the royal palace.
With the completion in 1981 of the adjacent Oslo S central station, the old railway hall became a shopping center, and in 2012 the building itself was remodeled by Nordic Choice Hotels to house their newest flagship: Comfort Hotel Grand Central.
